Showroom Business Development Manager
Position Summary:
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this role supports kitchen and bathroom showrooms within MKM as part of the Central Support Team. You'll play a key role in driving sales growth and executing product category strategies in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and coach showroom teams to enhance performance
- Collaborate with the National Showroom Sales Manager, Branch Directors, and Specialists to meet sales and margin targets.
- Support and grow showroom operations across multiple locations
- Act as a champion for kitchen and bathroom showrooms and specialists across MKM.
- Deliver training and ongoing development support for showroom systems and team members.
- Confidently adopt and train others on new systems.
- Collaborate with Branch Directors to recruit, develop, and retain showroom specialists.
- Assist in the development of new branches, specialists, and contract/business development opportunities.
- Monitor sales and margin performance to ensure targets are met at both branch and group levels.
- Partner with product managers to roll out supplier initiatives, manage supplier transitions, and launch new product ranges.
- Provide regular, consistent performance data to help assess and improve branch-level outcomes.
- Support and participate in local branch initiatives.
- Facilitate specialist training and development using both internal and external resources.
- Attend central meetings to share best practices and help shape future category strategy
Skills and Experience:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Proven experience in kitchen and/or bathroom showrooms, including design and CAD use with a sales focus.
- Familiarity with branch operations, particularly in a multi-site Merchant environment, would be advantageous.
- Comfortable working independently and managing responsibilities across multiple locations.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate and engage teams.
- Desirable: experience in a regional management or leadership role.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and influencing others.
Additional Details:
- UK-based applicants only. UK location is not as important as the right attitude.
- Flexibility for regular travel and overnight stays is essential.
- A proactive, 'can-do' attitude is essential.
