Integration Specialist
With the continual growth of MKM – now over 135 Branches across England, Scotland and Wales – there is an ever-increasing need for third party systems and the connections that feed data to and from them.
The Integration Specialist will work alongside the existing Integration Specialist and members of the MKM IT Team and wider business to design, develop and maintain new and existing integrations.
The role presents an exciting opportunity for a self-driven and self-managed individual. They should be technically capable and understand systems and data integration along with the processes they serve and the holistic goals they need to achieve.
With a wealth of experience across technologies, including SQL server and API and cloud-based systems, the Integration Specialist will need to be able to design integrations from the ground up and bring them into service using their own technical expertise.
The Role
- To lead system integrations from business requirement through to design, build and release
- Redesign and migrate ‘legacy’ integrations to be resilient and scalable
- Work with the wider business to understand and gather business requirements
- Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the IT Team
- Develop robust working methodologies and documentation
- Maintain and monitor data transfers and integrations on an ongoing basis
Key Skills
- Strong technical skills - data integration, manipulation and transfer (see Technologies below)
- Adaptable and flexible – learn/transfer skills and knowledge across platforms easily
- Relational data, reporting, and BI experience
- Strong analytical, problem solving and process analysis skills
- Excellent oral and written communicator, able to talk to technical and non-technical colleagues
- Ability to work across multiple concurrent projects
Desirable
- Experience of the Klipboard K8 ERP software (www.klipboard.com)
- Knowledge of Builders’ Merchant operations and systems
Technologies
Potential candidate should have used or be aware of:
- Consumption and creation of APIs
- .NET programming – VB and C# in use
- SQL – ad-hoc queries, views, user defined functions, updates, stored procedures etc
- Data formats - XML / JSON / CSV
- Microsoft Office
- Qlik
It would be advantageous to have knowledge of:
- Microsoft SQL SSIS
- Microsoft Azure (databases, Data Factory, App Services etc)
- Agile development methodologies
- Klipboard K8 ERP Data Exchange (DX) and report generator (repgen) toolsets
Other systems also in use (legacy):
- MS Access
- VBA
