All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from rust, flaking paint, dirt, dust and grease. Rub down all painted surfaces with abrasive paper to provide a firm base and remove any rust. As with all water-based paints, very thorough surface preparation is essential. Remove all dust created by rubbing down. Where necessary wash the surface with dilute detergent, rinse with clean water and allow time to dry. Bare cast iron surfaces should be primed with a suitable metal primer before applying Hammerite Quick Drying Radiator Paint. Radiators must be turned off and only painted when cold.

After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with clean water.
