Easy does it

There are more and more charging points in public spaces from fuel stations, supermarkets, shops and car parks. However nothing beats the convenience of charging your car while you’re busy doing something else.

You could also benefit from lower prices than public charging options, particularly if your energy company has a discounted rate for off-peak Electric Vehicle charging.

EV Chargepoint Grant

A grant worth up to 75% of the cost of installing a charging point is available to flat owners with dedicated parking spaces, landlords, apartment block owners and social housing providers.

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) means that grants are also now available to SMEs, Small Accommodation businesses, B&Bs, Charities and commercially let premises owners.

Get up to speed

Time to charge depends on the car’s battery size and also the capability of the charger.
Slow/ 3kWh

Slow/ 3kWh

You can plug into a normal socket and ‘trickle charge’ your battery slowly – around 10 hours for example – and pay through your electricity bill.

Slow/ 7kWh

Slow/ 7kWh

These are generally available for home installs. Twice the speed of a slow charge, these are convenient and simple to install by a qualified electrician.

Fast/ 22kWh

Fast/ 22kWh

Requiring a 3 phase supply not generally available in domestic settings, these tend to only be available in public spaces.

Rapid/ 50kWh+

Rapid/ 50kWh+

Available at fuel stations, motorway services and public locations with a DC supply, these can charge in as little as 30 minutes (and cost a lot more).
