A Hull City superfan preparing to travel more than 10,000 miles from Australia to follow his team at Wembley has had his dream trip completed thanks to MKM Building Supplies.
The UK’s leading independent builders’ merchant, which sponsors Hull City A.F.C.'s stadium, stepped in after spotting the story of lifelong Tigers fan Jamie Reeson, who was making the journey from Australia without even knowing if he’d be able to get a ticket for the final on Saturday.
The MKM team saw Jamie’s story over the weekend, and it really struck a chord, we wanted to step in and help, and make sure he gets to be there
Jamie and his dad will now both be heading to Wembley thanks to MKM.
Nicola Ollett, Marketing Director at MKM, said:
“We saw Jamie’s story and just thought, this is exactly what being a football fan is all about.
“To travel all the way from Australia to support your club, without even knowing if you’ll get a ticket, shows incredible loyalty and passion for Hull City.
“Hull is where MKM started. It’s our home turf and we’ve always had a strong connection with the club, the city and the people here.
“As a proud local business and sponsor of the stadium, we wanted to do something special and help make that trip complete for Jamie and his dad.
“Football creates memories that last forever and we’re delighted MKM could play a small part in this one.”
Jamie said:
“I couldn’t believe it when I woke up and saw the tweet from MKM saying they would sort the tickets.
“It honestly means everything. We made the decision to come over because we couldn’t miss the chance to see Hull City at Wembley, but we knew tickets were going to be difficult. It’s already set me back around £1,500 for travel and accommodation.
“To now know me and my dad are going to be there together is unbelievable. It’s something we’ll never forget.”

Lewie Coyle, Hull City captain, said:
“As players, we could not be more appreciative of the fans for always backing us and for the lengths they go to cheer on the lads.
“Jamie is clearly travelling much further than most, all the way from Australia, and it’s fantastic that MKM are making sure he can be there to back the boys at Wembley.
“His commitment to the club is remarkable, and I hope we can make his day even more special by getting the result we are all hoping for.”
